Visas

 

Students who are studying in-person program require a student visa to enter Mongolia based on their student contract with MNUMS. A student cannot enter Mongolia without correct visa. The visa can take up to 12 weeks to process. Therefore, applications for the new academic year must be made as soon as possible, to ensure that the student can commence the new school year on time. Students shall pay their own visa expenses.

 

Student residency permit

 

Once student has arrived in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia will apply for a student residency permit. Students must not engage in part-time job with their student visa and permit. Students should make a request at least 1 month before, if they want to go back to their home country during their semester break.

  1. The following documents shall be submitted to apply for a visa permit:

Copy of Student contract

Copy of passport / at least valid for 6 months or above/

Visa permit fee

Additional documents shall be submitted if necessary

Visa permit shall be issued within 5 business days at normal service and 3 business days at express service. Visa permit code shall be sent via message.

Notice: Registration shall be issued at the Mongolia Immigration Agency within 7 business days after foreign national entry to Mongolia.

  1. The following documents shall be submitted to register:

Passport and its copy

5*4.5 photo /taken within last six months/

Application form – 4

Registration fee

Notice: Residence permit shall be applied within 21 days after foreign national entry to Mongolia.

  1. The following documents shall be submitted to apply for residency permit:

Passport of foreign national

Residential address statement issued by the governor of soum or khoroo

Take the fingerprints /if not taken before/

Application form – 4 along with 3.5*4.5 photo /if you already filled out application form for registration, you dont need to fill the form again/

Additional documents shall be submitted if necessary

Resident permit fee

Notice: Student is responsible for holding their own resident permit. Students must make a request regarding the extend of permit at Division for International Relations, one month prior the expiration date.

  1. The following documents shall be submitted to extend residency permit:

Passport and residence card

Residential address statement issued by the governor of soum or khoroo

Take the fingerprints /if not taken before/

Application form – 4 along with 3.5*4.5 photo

Additional documents shall be submitted if necessary

Resident permit fee

Notice: Students should not exceed the expiration date of resident permit. In case of exceeding they must pay for fine and penalty per their exceeding days to Mongolian Immigration Agency. If student exceeds the expiration date of resident permit more than one month they shall expel from Mongolia.

  1. Cancellation of residence permit shall be issued after their graduation. It is issued within 4 business days before residence permit expires when foreign student intends to leave Mongolia.
