The Department of Gastroenterology was established in 1992 by the order of the Director of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. The order was approved by N.Bayarmaa, Ts.Sarantuya, D.Davaadorj, S.Badamjav at the time.
The Department of Gastroenterology of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences conducts high-level professional activities in the fields of graduate, undergraduate and postgraduate training, research and clinical medicine with currently 10 active teachers.
