In 2008, the Department of Cardio-Rheumatology was established.
In 2015, Rheumatology professors team joined the First Internal Medicine department.
In 2018, Rheumatology professors team separated from the First Internal Medicine department and established the department of Rheumatology.
Aim
We aim to combine clinical help with scientific research and training at the same degree and prepare medical professionals who are skilled in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases and preventing from them.

In 1997, Rheumatology course was included in the curriculum of the HSUM.
In 2008, The first rheumatology course was approved by the Education board of the Ministry of Health.
In 2010, Rheumatology course was introduced to internal medicine residency training program.
in 2016, The first national textbook on Rheumatology was published.
In 2017, “Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis” developed and approved in Mongolia.
